Overview

This tool is designed to enable users to define specific detection areas, adjust settings for better accuracy, and choose the object types to monitor. It is ideal for applications such as traffic management, safety monitoring, and analytics.

Interactive Area Setup

The Object Detection Configuration allows you to define detection areas using lines and Regions of Interest (ROIs):

  • Detection Lines:
You can add or remove detection lines, each represented in distinct colors for better visibility (e.g., red, blue, yellow). These lines help define the areas where object detection should occur.

  • Regions of Interest (ROIs):
ROIs allow you to focus detection on specific areas within the camera’s field of view, such as pedestrian crossings or intersections. These regions are customizable to suit the needs of your monitoring environment.

Detection Parameters

Several adjustable parameters are available to refine object detection:

  • Reporting Interval:
This setting determines how often detection events are reported. The default value is 5 seconds, but it can be adjusted to suit your monitoring frequency. For example, setting it to 300 seconds (5 minutes) will result in events being reported every 5 minutes.

  • Confidence Sensitivity:
This parameter adjusts the confidence level required for object recognition. The default value is 20, but increasing it to a higher percentage, such as 80%, can reduce false positives by ensuring detections meet a higher confidence threshold.

  • Near Miss Sensitivity:
This setting configures the threshold for detecting near-miss interactions between objects. The default value is 30, but increasing this value will detect smaller distances between objects, enabling more sensitive monitoring.

Object Types

You can choose the types of objects the system should detect, such as cars, bicycles, pedestrians, and various types of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, trucks, and vans.

A toggle feature allows you to enable or disable detection for specific object types based on your specific monitoring requirements.

Saving Settings

After configuring your detection parameters, you must save the settings to apply the changes:

  • Click Save Settings to finalize the configurations.

❗NOTE: After clicking Save, the system will restart the camera to ensure that all new settings are effectively applied.

Summary

The Object Detection Configuration tool in AlphaX Cloud provides powerful customization options, including detection zones, sensitivity settings, and object type selection. These features are designed to adapt to various use cases, ensuring effective monitoring for traffic management, safety systems, and analytics.

This guide ensures a straightforward approach to using the tool, helping you achieve accurate and reliable object detection.
